When I started this peice I had been reading about Henrick Kley, a German pen and ink artist during some difficult economic times in post WWI Germany. He did capering animals that danced and were often a social comentary on issues of his day. I thought it’d be cool to do something whimsical and light too. So I created a collage of chinese characters in the sky and the map of San Francisco benieth. I originally intended the Elephants to be Ganesh dancing with himself. The great remover of obstacles, but it became too serious.
