Graphite & Oil on Clayboard

Height: 12″ Width: 12″

When I started this peice I kinda didn’t know where it was going. Sort of a cross between Martin Schongauer’s The Temptation of St. Anthony and the Anatomical illustration by DeVinci. I thought there is this fetus being tempted, and so is this some kind of pro-life affirmation? Then it stuck me that like a lot of people I find the notion of Original Sin pretty strange; now it seems to me to be more about the sin we ascribe to innocence through silly dogma, and perhaps a lack of our own innocence.
